Zipper + tote = woo woo!

I love my zipper tote from Lands End. It is made out of a nice heavy duty canvas, and best of all when I clumsily knock it over, nothing comes tumbling out!
A gift that keeps on giving.

This is the perfect toy to entertain a baby and to annoy my brother. I think my niece needs this Fisher-Price The Sing-A-Ma-Jigs - Red

A perfect pillow for the daybed.

Etsy is the perfect place to find the perfect PILLOW COVER. This one is by WARM FUZZIES. It will make the day bed a bit more comfy.
I can tame my wild hair.
A pig to guard my cookies.

Do you think a pig could keep the cookie thieves away? I would like to find out with this POMAIREWARE CLAY PIG COOKIE JAR
Move it!
When I don't have time to get out there, I rely on my CONFIDENCE FOLDING EXERCISE BIKEWhich Key is it?

I use to have a hard time quickly picking out my house key from my keychain. Not anymore. I have transformed my house key into a bright red robot, with one of these ROBOT KEYCAP COVERS

Water, water, everywhere.
Today it rained.
As long as I don't have to drive in it, I really <3 rainy days.
When I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, I remember a big storm passed through the Islands. It downed trees and maybe even gave us a break from school (my memory gets a little fuzzy there) The puddles were over a foot deep and beckoned me to wade through their murky water as I went outside to play in the after storm drizzle. I lost track of time playing in the light rain and puddles and since then I always connected rain with something wonderful.
I waited and waited for another big storm like that, but after a few years passed, I realized they were few and far between. Still, I've grown to appreciate the little storms. The air smells different. The air feels different. And then the water comes.

Skype and contemporary art.
So, I decided to hang out in skype-land for a bit this afternoon and blurt out whatever came to mind. I shared a link to Shine, and babbled on about this and that. We watched Annie Lennox and David Bowie do a rendition of Under Pressure via youtube and commented how youtube has opened our eyes to a whole new experience. In the midst of our brooding over interior design and the heat in Texas, I was given a link to art by Michael Cutlip (click on his painting below titled Onward to go to his website). His site is pure eye candy.
We browse and we listen and we see together.

Whiling away my Sunday afternoon....
Lazy Sunday afternoons are meant to be spent doing nothing: nothing resembling work, nothing resembling productivity. So I weigh my choices (aside from blogging!).
Should I layout on the daybed and catch an episode of No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain?
Should I rewatch the premier of Project Runway season 5?
I could login to World of Warcraft and troll around for fun and adventure involving dragons and fire balls.
Or I could check out who is on skype and see what's happing with friends across the oceans and across the borders.
And, if the kids weren't at Grandma's house, I could pick up their Nintendo DS (which they seem to carry with them everywhere) and try a few training sessions on Brain Age.
A year ago the choice for me to relax and enjoy myself would have been to pick up a paint brush and whip out a painting or two. Somewhere along the way my drive and passion has shifted. At first I was a little puzzled. I had ideas to paint, but no driving passion to do so. I thought I lost my creative edge, but I do realize now that it is just shifting and evolving. I delved into redesigning my website and redecorating my home. I even figured out how to rewire a chandelier. Art and creativity can be found in many forms and I look forward to where my creative journey will take me...

Crows... my newest art purchase.
AF Norling is one of my favorite artists. Apparently she has a thing for crows (and so do I) .Her work is quite extraordinary. Her layering of old letters/paper/ephemera is so intricate and intriguing. She calls it contemporary mixed media, I call it wonderful. The collage layering takes on a time worn vintage look, that I love, love, love. I am happy to have been able to get this piece from her!
